This painting was created in 2005 as a Mother’s Day gift for Mike Ebrahimi’s mother. He was originally intending to paint a picture of her, when on the way to the art store to select the canvas, Mike’s mom called to ask him a question. When she asked what he was doing, he told her that he was on the way to the store to purchase the supplies he needs to make a Mother’s Day painting for her. She convinced him that she would rather have a painting of him than one of herself. He did, and gave it to her . . . two weeks late.
The piece is created with acrylic paint on stretched canvas, and combines textures of pumice gel and white opaque flakes.
